Best Sister's...and sleeping buddies!

You have never met two closer sisters...They love each other dearly, and would fight for the other one if need be...and then in the next breath scream at each other with angry voices while kicking and screaming.
We are enjoying a wonderful Spring break, and the girls have slept with each other every night.
I love being on the other side of their door, and hearing theirsweet little games, plans, songs, and laughter...I wish I could bottle it up, and have it forever.
They are SO different to have come from the same parents, and so fun to watch. They are learning the art of compromise, and give and take. We are trying to teach them to communicate with each other instead of coming to us to fix the problems between them...We have to remind them often that they are the only sister they will ever have and that makes them automatic friends for life...so they are stuck with other, but I don't think that will be such a horrible thing in the future when they need someone to vent to about their parents...
I didn't grow up with a siser, so I am in awe of the way they interact with one another, and at times I have ear aches from all the screaming they can both produce.

Caught!

There is way to much sharing going on at the Holmes tent, but this tops them all. I caught Deacon sharing his water bowl with Eli. Isn't that sweet. I walked in and Deacon was chowing down and Eli was drinking at the same time. I didn't know what to do first, so I took this picture, then I puked and then refrained from too many boy kisses the rest of the night!
Is anyone hungry or thirsty?
We like to get caught sharing around here!

Two people Everyone needs to meet!

I am warning you now so you, the world, will be prepared...The people in this photo will bring out the best in you and cause you to have more fun than you ever thought possible.

Believe it or not Ken and I did not even know and had not ever met this couple bfeore our wonderful vacation...Did I mention in any of the above previous posts that we have been on a cruise??? I thought I had...Anyway upon getting in the shuttle to our hotel we met them, Aaron and Vania (rhymes with Shania). Little did we know they were going to:

Make us laugh.

Listen to endless stories about our children.

Make us sing Karaoke. Yikes!

Take us dancing. Double Yikes!

Buy me Dr. Pepper.

Make us buy them dinner....Twice!

share a cab.

Tell us all about Canada!

Seriously though, if you ever see these two you should really hang out with them. They were a ton of fun and helped to make our vacation a memorable one.

To Aaron and Vania...I hope we get to vacation again together, you two were full of life...When you weren't sleeping that is. You two are awsome and we are so thankful we got the chance to meet you! Blessings to you!

Breathtaking!

For years now, Ken and I have dreamed of having the opportunity to go whale watching. During our cruise we made that dream come true together. We will NEVER forget it!

We were in awe of these magnificent animals, and the way they moved in the water was so sleak and fluent.

I felt like I was in a Discovery channel documentary When they would surface and spray water through their blow hole, all I could do was scream and wave my arms in the air like a crazy woman.
We had an awesome guide who got us within 10 feet of the whales, and we got the chance to see a Mom, Dad, and baby whale swimming together. We got a little to close at one point, so the Dad came up out of the water and landed on his side to warn us to back up...What an adrenaline rush!

So, if you ever get the opportunity to experience this for yourself, don't hold back, run to the boat, and jump on board. It was worth the wait!

Just Cruisin'...

I am one of those people that sometimes can't see the forest for the trees in the way, and this vacation was no exception. I spent hours reluctantly packing a suitcase, and even more hours organizing the kids world, so that my Mother in law would not have such a hard time with them. I did all of these things without ever thinking that this was going to be one of the best times of my life. I ran all the errands, washed all the clothes, packed all the sunscreen, froze all the dinners, wrote all the notes and cleaned the whole house...I did all of these things not knowing this would be the vacation of vacations. A time to reconnect with my husband, and finish sentences without being interrupted every 15 seconds.

Before leaving I ,over the top, loved on my kids and tried to give them each special attention...I did all of this because I felt guilty for leaving them behind. I felt guilty and worried about being gone for 8 whole days without them.

I am here to say....I am a better Mom an wife for having gone on that vacation.

Can I get a "noduhyouneedtodothatmoreoften!"

We laughed, talked, kissed, ate, slept, sat, watched, rode, ate, read, watched sunsets, saw rainbows, kissed, ate, bought, danced, napped, and ate and kissed some more. It was amazingly wonderful to simply spend time alone with the one I love, and to only have each other to think about for an entire week was truly a gift.

I am so glad I got to experience the forrest of blessings God had in store for me in spite of the trees of guilt and worry that stood before me.
